-Our speaker on international adoption said she could come on June 6th
- FBC then told me that they were going to highlight the adoption ministry in their quarterly newsletter.
- They chose an adoptive family at church that just adopted 2 children from the foster care
system for their testimony section. (After 4 others didn't work out)
- They didn't have a picture for the quarterly cover so they used the one of the adoption ministry.
- 1 more is being dedicated on Father's Day.
-Our Sunday school class needed a teacher for the month of June and said we could hold all
adoption events in the class.
- I have had calls from other churches and people coming out of the woodwork with people
interested in adoption.
-I didn't have a speaker for the last Sunday in June, and the social worker for a family in our
church came to our garage sale and asked if she could come and speak.
- We had 30+ people attend our adoption panel last Sunday.
-we held a garage sale and raised over $900 for the adoption ministry to help families with
adoption costs.
-Over 15 couples from fbc are considering adoption
-6 families have already contacted agencies and have started the process to either do foster care
or adopt.
God gave me a scripture about a month ago that said,"Now then, stand still and see this great thing the LORD is about to do before your eyes!" 1 Samuel 12:16
I thought it had to do with Diane (I'll do a Diane update soon), and it probably does, but I think his plans are bigger that I could even imagine! This is totally a God Story because I really didn't plan any of this!! God orchestrated it all. I am learning to wait on him and his timing. It is so much easier and he can produce more results than I could ever do on my own!
**If you know anyone that you would like added to my prayer list (including your own family) let me know!
I found your blog from your comment on my blog about simplifying your wardrobe. I'm THRILLED to see how the Lord is growing your adoption ministry at your church. We have an unofficial adoption ministry at our church but I'm really praying about what He would have me do in a more "organized" fashion. I'm looking forward to following your blog!!
